“My, What Big Right Atrium You Have…”
For our Anatomical Visualization class, we were given the task of drawing an anomalous left hepatic vein opening independently into the right atrium. Typically, the left hepatic vein courses through the left lobe of the liver and opens directly into the inferior vena cava IVC). In this drawing, IVC, the great cardiac vein, the middle vein, and the posterior vein of the left ventricle also open independently into the same atrium.

Wow. It really does look like an anomalous left hepatic vein opening independently into the right atrium. That drawing is amazing, Laryn. No wonder you stay up so late – they’re teaching you so much!

I always knew you were talented — but this just took it to a new level.
Miss you!
